Self-attacks.

For many people, bedtime is the point at which our thoughts race at a hundred miles an hour, jumping uncontrollably from one self-critical thought to the next.

However, telling yourself what a failure you are will not make you any more successful.

Telling yourself how incompetent you are isn’t going to make you competent.

Telling yourself how stupid you are will not make you smarter.

Telling yourself you’re not living up to your full potential will not help you reach a higher potential.

Telling yourself you’re worthless and unlovable will not make you feel any more worthy or lovable.

Telling yourself how unlikeable you are isn’t going to make you more likeable.

Telling yourself how hopeless your situation isn’t going to give you hope.

So why the barrage of self-attacks? You can’t hate your way into loving yourself.
