Perseverance is a skill.

Have you ever wanted something really badly? Even worked for it like you’ve never worked before, only to come up short? How are we supposed to keep on going when we miss the mark not just once, but repeatedly?

These are the days where you can begin questioning yourself, your ability to accomplish what you want, and if all you are doing is ever going to payoff. You may not be able to see a lot of tangible signs of your future success. You may be feeling a little worn down. You may be beyond tired.

When you feel like you’re at the end the road with nowhere to go, you must realize you are lying to yourself. You have limited yourself in your own mind by telling yourself self-defeating stories. You tell yourself stories about what your life should be like, what you should have already accomplished, and so forth. However, you can choose to focus your mind and do things that will inspire you to keep going.

Perseverance, next to adaptability is the most important skill you can have. And it’s just that, a skill. Like any other skill in the world, you might be born with a more natural ability to persevere than others, but you can learn to stick with things and persevere if you want to. Therapy can teach you how.

Tell me your story.
