Self-sacrifice.

Do you think you are being a good person by self-sacrificing? By giving and serving others? By letting your needs wait? By being selfless? By putting yourself last? We tend to hide the truth. We package it with a nice pretty bow and tell ourselves that we are being good or angelic.

Self-sacrificing will eventually lead to an impossible pace and result in resentment and anger. Most often we self-sacrifice because we are afraid we will lose people’s approval. They will leave us and we will lose our connection to them. This need for approval is so great that we give away our time, energy, values, who we are, and personal needs to get it. It’s time to hang up your wings.

Tell me your story.
