The Cost of Peace.

Are you consumed with worry? Do you hold on tightly to the “what ifs”? Do you find yourself regretting things you just can’t let go? Are you burdened by always trying to do too much? Is your past keeping your from enjoying the now? Are you holding on to hatred?

Do you see the downside of every situation? How many times have you been irritated when someone doesn’t do things the way you’re used to? Or when you’ve planned something carefully and things didn’t go as you had hoped?

What is costing you your peace of mind?

So many of us struggle to find peace. If we do, it is often difficult to maintain it. Something or someone always seems to screw it up for us. Peace requires effort. It isn’t something that you just arrive at and check off your list. It is not a destination.

What do you do to nurture your sense of well-being and peace for yourself?

While it is easy to say, “don’t think about the negative”, it is not that simple. We have all been conditioned to attract problems and conflicts. So much so, that the simple concept of “stop thinking about it” doesn’t work. It becomes contradictory because it increases our awareness of the problem. Real healing requires learning tools that get to the root of the problem.

Identifying your negative thinking is the first step towards change. Change always begins with awareness. Learning to identify and stop negative thoughts helps you care for yourself and handle life’s challenges.

Healthy thinking, which is taught in therapy, helps you identify how your thoughts (both helpful and not so helpful) affect your problems and feelings. You can take back the reins of your life so that you are in the driver’s seat determining your well-being and your peace of mind.

Remember, if it costs you your peace, it’s too expensive.
