The Rut.

Ruts are comfortable. You’re not really moving forward, but there is little risk of disaster. Your days are largely pre-planned. Nothing will likely trip you up and completely ruin your day, but you are moving no closer towards the truly happy life you so very much deserve.

But the days turn into weeks, the weeks into months, and the months into years. The rut gets deeper and you have learned that it really isn’t heading anywhere you want to be.

When bad things happen in our lives, they are just that: Bad. There is no point in sugarcoating painful, traumatic events. Still, they often serve a purpose; sometimes they force us out of our rut and onto a new path.

Suddenly, we must think and behave differently. We must find new ways to solve problems. We must meet new people and leave old ones.

The key to realizing the benefit from these opportunities is to make sure our new path does not become simply another rut. Therapy helps us change the behaviors and patterns that stand between us and a healthy, happy life.

Let’s get out of the rut…
