When we find things that we want in life, we sometimes hold on so tightly for fear that we will lose it. At times, our minds make us believe we need these belongings, situations, and relationships, or that we can’t live without them. And out of this fear, we hold onto them when it no longer serves us.
But how could we possibly want to hold on to problems?
Perhaps we create and maintain problems because they give us a sense of identity. This certainly explains why we often hold on to our pain far beyond its ability to serve us.
We replay past mistakes over and over again in our head, allowing feelings of shame and regret to shape our actions in the present. We cling so tightly to frustration and worry about the future, as if the act of obsessing over it somehow gives us power.
If there was one thing in your life you could let go of today that would bring you peace and simplify your life what would it be?
